Jennifer Ballentine is the Executive Director of the CSU Shiley Institute for Palliative Care. She has more than 20 years’ experience in palliative care education and policy, change design, and nonprofit leadership. A long-ago professional editor and student of symbolic anthropology and linguistics, she is especially attuned to the power of language in not only expressing but shaping reality. As Executive Director of the CSU Shiley Institute for Palliative Care, she oversees development of innovative online and in-person curriculum for healthcare professionals worldwide, as well as students throughout the CSU system. Her past leadership positions Executive Director, Life Quality Institute, and Director of Professional Programs, Colorado Center for Hospice and Palliative Care. She holds a Bachelor’s degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from Oberlin College, a Master’s (with graduate honors) in End-of-Life Studies from Regis University, and a Certificate of Professional Advancement in Gerontology from the University of Colorado–Colorado Springs.
