Paul Denniston created Grief Yoga and has taught this practice to over 5000 therapists, counselors and health care professionals around the world and teaches workshops around the US. Paul’s creation of Grief Yoga blends Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Kundalini Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Laughter Yoga, and Let Your Yoga Dance into a space of transformation and healing. His intention is combining many different branches of yoga in order to channel and release anger, and allow unresolved grief a compassionate space to breathe and be released to help us connect to the resilient loving warrior within.
Paul has studied under yoga masters, Seane Corn and Gurmukh, and has also studied and worked extensively with grief expert, David Kessler. Paul studied from some of the top leaders in loss, such as William Worden and Peter Levine. Paul was a choreographer and movement teacher at the Stella Adler Academy in Hollywood, graduate of the Hoffman Institute and Mankind Project, and he also offers Heart Touch Massage to the dying.
He teaches at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, Esalen, 1440 Multiversity, the Afterlife Conference, Alternatives in London, Cancer Support Centers, addiction groups, workshops on healing after a breakup, divorce or betrayal, and also teaches to bereavement groups in one of the largest hospices in Los Angeles. His DVD’s and online courses focus on using grief as fuel for healing through movement and yoga.
