Susan A. Barber

Susan A. Barber has been working in end of life care for 30+ years. For 20 years, Susan was a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator and trained more than 650 volunteers during that time. Susan now works full time as the Community Education Manager at Mission Hospice & Home Care, where she produces events with national speakers, a movie series, a newly launched author series, Death Cafes, a Compassionate End of Life training for prisoners at San Quentin, and our Community Ambassador Program. Susan worked with Stephen and Ondrea Levine, whose work includes the seminal book Who Dies, and hundreds of Conscious Living/Conscious Dying workshops; has facilitated support groups for young adults with life-threatening illness, and was a founding Board Member of Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery in Redwood Valley CA.
